In Erie County Court this afternoon, a man admitted to robbing 4 local banks last November.
Thirty-four year old Anthony Herrmann pleaded guilty to 4 counts of robbery. He faces a maximum of 40 years in prison when he is sentenced next month.
As part of the plea deal, prosecutors dropped multiple counts of theft, conspiracy and receiving stolen property.
Herrmann admitted he robbed the Erie Bank at 10th and Peach, the First National Bank on East Grandview, the PNC Bank on Peach Street, and the Northwest Savings Bank on Pittsburgh Avenue. The robberies happened within a 3 day period.
Police say Herrmann used the money to buy heroin.
A co-defendant is expected to enter a plea tomorrow.
