Union faculty members at Edinboro and 13 other state owned universities today overwhelmingly ratified a new contract.
The 4 year contract must still be approved by the board of the State System of Higher Education. A vote is scheduled for March 20.
More than 95% of faculty members voted for the new agreement. It includes a 4% pay hike over 4 years, plus payments based on seniority.
The faculty and state have been negotiating for 2 years trying to reach a new contract. And there was worry the failure to reach a deal could have led to a strike.
