"Less cancer, more birthdays" goal of Strides Against Cancer

The American Cancer Society held a kick-off breakfast Saturday for this year's "Making Strides Against Breast Cancer" walk.

Women signed up and formed teams for the May 11th event, which will be held at Levis Commons in Perrysburg.

Event co-chair Bridgett Root said. "Our goal is to create a world with less cancer and more birthdays. One of the statements I think we make as an organization is that we hope to not exist. Our goal is that there won't need to be an American Cancer Society because in the future there won't be cancer."
