Body found near Sandusky River

The Sandusky County Sheriff's Department says a body was discovered around 12:30 p.m. Sunday afternoon near Sand Dock along the Sandusky River.

Authorities say the body was found about five feed from the water near Sand Street.

The Sheriff's Department suspects the body could be that of a person missing since January 18th. But they are not releasing any identifying information at this time.

They say there was no sign of foul play, but the can't confirm that until after an autopsy is performed.  The the incident is still under investigation.
