A huge, 3-day statewide pool tournament wrapped up today at the Erie Bayfront Convention Center. The 31st annual state 8-ball tournament drew more than 2300 entries.
Organizers say about 60% of the players were from out-of-town. And many people were in Erie from Thursday through Sunday. An economic impact study determined they spend about $370,000 in our area during the event.
Tournament Chairman Ed Borgia said, "All the hotels around here are full. Everyone is trying to get close to the Bayfront Convention Center. So a lot of bars and restaurants are benefiting, with people going out and enjoying Erie."
