Democratic Chairman: Dahlkemper-Grossman Battle Will Not Split Party

Former Congresswoman Kathy Dahlkemper on Monday is expected to officially announce she is running for Erie County Executive. The one-term Democrat will take on incumbent Barry Grossman for the Democratic nomination.

 Party leaders say they will stay neutral in the primary. Chairman Bill Cole says he expects a tough fight, boosting turnout. But he maintains the race will not split the party.

 He said, "Both candidates have agreed they will run clean campaigns. Both candidates have different constituencies so it will not split the party."
