
RIO VERDE – Toledo concluded its spring break in Arizona on Sunday with a sixth-place showing at the Rio Verde Invitational. The Rockets carded a team score of 307 today to finish the tournament at 31-over par 607. The event was shortened to 36 holes after Friday's opening round was washed out.
UT finished just 10 strokes behind tournament champion Northern Arizona (288-309-597) in a closely-grouped leaderboard. Xavier finished second at 24-over par 600.
Freshman Sathika Ruenreong paced the Rockets with her fifth straight Top 10 finish, tying for eighth place at five-over par 149 (73-76). Sophomore Jennifer Elsholz matched Ruenreong today with a four-over 76 to tie for 17th place at 151 (75-76), while freshman Manisa Isavas tied for 32nd place at 10-over par 154 (74-80).
Sophomore Becky Martin (78-79=157) and senior Allison Schultz (82-76=158) rounded out the Rocket lineup tied for 53rd and 62nd place, respectively.
Sophomore Stephanie St-Jean, who competed as an individual, carded the Rockets' best round of the day with a one-over par 73 and finish tied for 13th place at 150 (77-73).
NAU's Savana Bezdicek captured medalist honors with an even-par 144 (71-73).
Toledo returns to action next week with a trip to Ocala, FL for the Ocala Invitational on Sunday-Tuesday, March 17-19.
