Former Erie Fire Chief Dies

A former Erie Fire Department chief has died.  Art Jaskiewicz served the department for forty years from 1950 - 1990.   He worked up through the ranks serving as chief for his last year on the force before retiring. After a brief illness he died Monday. He was 88 years old.

Calling hours are Thursday from 2:00 -5:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM at the Schmidt & Sons funeral home on Wattsburg road.  A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 AM Friday at St. Luke Church.
