We're getting more information on the suspect that led police on a wild chase Tuesday morning on Erie's east side.
He's identified as 23 year old Trahern Taylor of Erie.
We wanted to know why were police looking for him, in the first place. And as it turns out, they weren't.
Police were not actually looking for Taylor, but after the hectic scene Tuesday, they found he was wanted on 4 sheriff's warrants.
Taylor was placed in jail Tuesday night, facing several charges including possession with intent to deliver, fleeing and eluding police, and several traffic citations.
After he fled from the accident scene, police say they found both cocaine and marijuana on him and in the vehicle.
According to Erie's police chief, Taylor sped away from officers with the US Marshall's Fugitive Task Force, when they tried to pull him over.
They actually thought he was another wanted person.
But, it turned out Taylor was also wanted by the Erie county sheriff's office for a probation/parole violation on an original charge of possession of cocaine, and on several non-support warrants.
"They did find some drugs on this individual as well as inside the vehicle itself. So he's facing possession with intent to deliver is the primary charge, also attempting to flee or elude police officers, and numerous traffic violations for taking everyone on the pursuit." Said Erie Police Chief Steve Franklin.
Police are still looking for the other wanted person.
