Last year a change in a state payroll contract left many direct care workers frustrated and waiting for their paychecks. The State Auditor General is beginning an audit of the Department of Public Welfare's transfer of payroll services for direct care workers to Public Partnerships, LLC (PPL). In the meantime, there are still many direct care workers who are not receiving paychecks or who are having problems navigating the new system.
The office of State Senator Sean D. Wiley is working to help constituents connect with PPL and resolve their payment issues. On Wednesday, March 20 from 1:30 PM - 4:00 PM, Senator Wiley's Director of Constituent Services and other members of his staff will be at Voices for Independence in Erie to help those constituents navigate the process and help ensure they receive their paychecks. A representative from PA Rep. Ryan Bizzarro's office will attend as well.
If you need help with PPL issues and plan to attend, you must first contact Voices for Independence to make an appointment and to be sure you have the appropriate forms.
Voices for Independence is located at 1107 Payne Avenue. To make an appointment call Tiffany Frey at 874-0064 ext. 222 or Edna Anabui at 874-0064 ex. 226.
