Elementary School Celebrates 120 Years of Education

A birthday bash celebrated 120 years of education at Villa Maria Elementary.

Students, faculty and alumni joined together to honor their school's history.

They listened to speakers and enjoyed a special performance by the school band, and of course no birthday is complete without some cake and ice cream.

Father Shane Matthew graduated from VME  in 1993, and he spoke to the students about his experience at the private school.

He said the school's affiliation with the Sisters of Saint Joseph helped shape his own career path.

The school moved to its current building in 1993.
