Gannon University plans a special mass on Thursday March 14 to pray for newly elected Pope Francis I. It will be held at the Mary Seat of Wisdom Chapel at 11:00 AM.
Father Michael of Gannon sent notice to the campus saying, "It was particularly poignant that before he gave his first blessing from the balcony of St. Peter's Basilica, he asked everyone gathered to pray for God's blessing on him."
The priest told the Gannon community that the mass will be a good opportunity for the university to pray for the Holy Father as he begins his ministry as the newly elected Pope of the Universal Church.
