The Erie Port Authority is taking another step forward in it's attempt to attract a developer for the McAllister Place project on East Dobbins Landing.
The plan for a retail, office, and housing development was put on hold for several years when the national economy declined. But the idea was revived late last year.
And this week, the authority began advertising for proposals in Erie, Pittsburgh, Cleveland and Buffalo. The deadline is June 15.
The authority thinks developers will be crunching numbers to decide if the project is workable.
Ray Schreckengost of the Port Authority said, "I think it is going to boil down to the numbers, and the tenants they can try to round up."
Authority managers have already met with five potential developers.
