It was back to Winter weather outside this weekend, so LECOM students took to the indoor track for their mini Relay for Life.
130 students signed up to raise money and walk today, from 9:00 a.m. to noon.
So far the students have raised about $4,000, and they hope to raise about $2,000 more with t-shirt and coupon sales.
Student and organizer Charley Martin said it was an appropriate cause for the future doctors to support.
"I think as we're learning about the specifics of all the different cancer diseases we know that the research will one day be very helpful for finding the cure, or even just continuing treatment," he said.
The organizers thank the LECOM administration for allowing them to use the facility for the walk.
