An official from the Lenawee County Sheriff's Office says a fugitive team was attempting to serve a felony arrest warrants on a man they believe robbed Jerry's Grocery and Liquor carry out on Tuesday. Police say he is a 25-year-old parole violater from Detroit and they consider him to be armed and dangerous.

Sheriff Jack Welsh says enforcement officers say they saw him go into a home in the 1100 block of West Maumee on Saturday afternoon. "They were gonna try and take him into custody and they did see him enter the house. We know that he's in there, we haven't seen anybody leave."

Police believe two others are inside the home, but say they are only interested in one suspect.

Authorities blocked off a number of surrounding streets and asked the public to avoid the area.

The Michigan State Police were unsuccessful at establishing phone communication with the suspect on Saturday evening.

They say they are taking extreme caution in this situation and the negotiations could take a long time.
