Students in the Erie School District Monday were celebrating their differences in a very special way.
It's all part of the Face to Face Project. It's a collaboration between Collegiate Academy, McKinley School and the International Institute.
It gives collegiate students the opportunity to partner with and mentor English Language Learner students from McKinley.
Monday the partners presented the projects they've been working on all year to their parents.
Organizers say the program has so far been a huge success.
"The kind of big brothers big sisters role they're playing in the kids lives," said Russell Taylor, teacher at Collegiate Academy. "They get a tremendous feeling of bonding and accomplishment and helping kids. Actually, some of the kids last year, they talk about it changing what they want to do with their lives."
It wasn't all about academics on Monday. Following the presentation, there was a dinner made up of ethnic foods from the families involved in the project.
