Several crews were called out to battle a big barn fire today in Venango Township. The fire broke out about 9:45 this morning at the Doug Meabon Farm on Rt. 89. Two barns, one wood, and one metal, were destroyed in today's fire. They lost a lot of farm equipment, vehicles and hay. There were also a few explosions this morning due to the vehicles in the barns. The family does have about 200 head of cattle, but they were in a different barn and not hurt today. The Meabon Farm has been a working family farm for 97 years.
