A historic day in Pennsylvania's capital on Thursday, as the state now becomes one step closer to privatizing the sale of liquor.
After eight hours of debating, the House passed House Bill 790 by a vote of 105-90.
Governor Corbett said the passing of reflects the support the issue has, but State Representative Ryan Bizzarro, (D) Third Legislative District, doesn't agree.
"As it stands now, there's going to be a loss of about $600 million in state revenue, more than 5,000 state employees will lose their positions," said Bizzarro. "This is just a bad bill for the state of Pennsylvania."
This is the first time a bill like this has passed in the House. Rep. Bizzarro said that's because republicans hold a majority vote in the House, and this bill was voted mostly on party lines.
It will now make it's way to the Senate.
