The Barber Center invited the community to celebrate Autism Awareness Day at the Millcreek Mall.
The center welcomed all kids to join in the fun with face painting and crafts, plus a visit from therapy dogs and storybook favorite Curious George.
The public setting helped the cause get some visibility, and provided a fun family outing to teach about autism.
Maureen Barber- Carey of the Barber Center said as doctors learn more about autism, it's important to keep families educated as well.
Staff from the center manned the tables to answer parents' questions.
