A big financial boost to some local organizations, from some local farmers.
It was part of an online contest, where farmers could submit applications to win money, to be donated to an organization of their choice.
The money came from the Monsanto Corporation.
The two organizations benefiting were the Kanzius Foundation, and the Stancliff Hose Company in Waterford.
Each got $2,500 dollars.
We're told the money, also help the farmers.
"They wanted us to go to their schools and rural communities so we formed a few programs where we could recognize the farmers for being vital assets in the community." Said Colleen Merz, a customer advocacy manager with Monsanto Corp.
