The May election is almost a month away. As it approaches, tonight, candidates in several of the races gathered for a night of discussion.
The event was hosted by the North Western PA Pride Alliance at the Avalon Hotel.
The candidates had to tackle a number of issues which affect members of the LGBT community.
Those involved in the forum, include candidates for county executive, county council, and city council. The candidates discussed their stance on same sex marriage and anti-discrimination legislation.
Organizers say that they will take each candidates stance into consideration, come election day.
"Just to understand where all of the candidates stand," said Michael Mahler of the NW PA Pride Alliance. "It's also so they can realize that there are multiple LGBT groups in the area, and just that they are aware we vote like everybody else."
The election is on May 21.
