Beast on the Bay Gets Trial Run

Posted: Updated:

Over 150 people got a taste of the Barber Beast on the Bay on Sunday.

Volunteers helped organizers test everything from parking logistics to obstacle construction.

Runners took off in waves to tackle a shortened three mile version of the course. The full course, will be 12 miles.

It was a chance for the Barber National Institute to promote their newest fundraiser, and make sure everything goes smoothly on race day.

"It's trial and error so we can see things that didn't go well we can fix it so the event is more fruitful," said obstacle designer John Walker.

"We're looking for motivation, we wanna get a little bit of the word out and show people what were doing here, so for the big event everyone knows about it before we start," Walker said.
