A special guest was in Erie to kick off the 31st Annual Bowl For Kids' Sake fundraiser Friday night.
Former Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver and Hall of Famer Lynn Swann opened up the fundraising event for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Swann has been involved with the mentoring program for over 30 years, and he actually helped start Bowl For Kids' Sake.
"This is always a great event because bowling is great family fun," said Swann. "Kids of all ages can bowl. We can even protect them a little bit because they got the guard rail so the balls don't go into the gutter. It's a lot of fun and it raised a lot of money for the program."
Hundreds turned out for the tournament. Swann says that's because Big Brothers Big Sisters is so deeply rooted in the community.
