History Comes to Life for Students

Posted: Updated:

History came to life in a Woodrow Wilson classroom on Friday.

Alexander Hamilton stopped by this afternoon, to tell 8th graders all about his travels and battles.

He's just one character in town, from the American Historical Theater in Philadelphia.

Kids got to play along as historical figures themselves, to help teach about history in a more interactive way.

"To have someone as exciting as this... come into the classroom and speak, it personalizes it for the students and they just enjoy it a lot more," said Social Studies Teacher  Nora Levinson.

Other students throughout the school district got to meet historical figures, too, including Betsy Ross and Benjamin Franklin.
