Hundreds of people turned out to the peninsula today to walk for multiple sclerosis.
MS can make it difficult to walk, and even perform simple daily tasks.
"Walk MS" is an effort to raise awareness and improve the quality of life for those living with the disease. That includes more than 7000 people in our community alone.
The money from the walk goes to bettering their lives, through research and support programs.
"We have a lot of programs for people, anything from educational tools to programs where they can come and hear about the different therapies that are being produced now," said Colleen Quinn, of the local chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
About 50 teams signed up to walk together for the cause, bringing out a crowd of over 500 this year.
