The Penguins decision to start Tomas Vokoun in goal for Game 5 against the Islanders Thursday night is a no-brainer. Marc Andre-Fleury has looked out of sorts, lost his swagger and his mojo and the Pens need a little boost or the Islanders are going to steal this series away from them. At age 36, you have to wonder if Fleury's time in Pittsburgh may be coming to an end if he does not respond the next time he gets between the pipes.
Golf rarely has it's controversial stories off the course (Tiger being the exception to this) so the decision by Vijay Singh to sue the PGA Tour is very interesting. It involves his use of deer antler spray which eventually was determined not be a violation and thus no suspension of 90 days which was the original penalty. Boy did they throw Singh under the bus on this one!!! He is one of the hardest working PGA Tour Pros, never involved in any controversy and a popular players among the fans but a rush to judgement by the PGA Tour when this story broke appears to be the case. I don't doubt that there may be some players trying to enhance their performance like in other sports with millions of dollars on the line but the fact of the matter in golf is that you can be competitive for a lot longer than you can be in other sports like football, basketball or hockey. Those athletes have a smaller window to cash in so to speak. Just goes to show you, no matter who you are talking about when it comes to the people who run the games, covering your own butt is the norm.
