The Fighting Irish were in town sharing their musical gifts, this Mother's Day.
The Notre Dame Victory March and Alma Mater were just two of the well known songs that blasted boisterously from trumpets, trombones, and more.
The band played at Holy Cross parish in Fairview, Saturday afternoon.
The group has traveled the world, playing in countries in Europe, South America, Asia and Australia.
Hundreds of people in our area took in sounds of the 80- member symphonic wind ensemble.
Religious music was joined by lively marches and jazz inside the church.
For these students, music is a passion.
"There's a lot of good college bands around and many of them have lots of music majors, but what makes this one distinct is the wide variety of majors that are in this band," said Mark Kulyk, who's a former member of the ND Marching Band. "They're here because they love music."
Erie is one stop on the group's latest four-city tour, which includes Detroit and Midland, PA.
