We've not talked a lot about the NBA playoffs but it looks like the Miami Heat are on their way to reaching the NBA Finals again. I can't see anyone beating them in a best of seven series right now barring an injury or two. Other than maybe the Spurs, who have veterans up and down their lineup, the Heat are a tough team. Tough physical and mentally. Dwayne Wade came back in the clincher in game five against the Bulls, got his knee re-taped and had a big fourth quarter that iced it. That's what I mean about toughness and you have to have it in the NBA Playoffs. It's a marathon not a sprint and teams like the Heat and Spurs know it and thrive on it. Oklahoma City is learning but they are not there yet. After losing Russell Westbrook they were a different team and Kevin Durant could not carry them by himself. The Knicks have a lot of talented shooters, but will likely lose to Indiana because they don't have that extra toughness and tenacity that is needed to win it all, not just a series or two, but win it all. The Heat have it. There is no question that Lebron James is the most talented player in the league right now and perhaps one of the top three all time in the NBA, but he also has a mental toughness that will get him to rise above challenges and he has already withstood challenges early in his career. That is something you aren't born with. Shooting talent yes, the ability to overcome adversity and pressure at the right time, no. You earn it. That's why the Heat will win it all.
