Friday marked the first of four Bike Nights in downtown Erie, and everybody was ready to get their bike out and shake off those winter blues.
"I've been thinking about this for weeks now," said biker Ron Braden of Erie. "I knew it was coming up, and everyday, I'm looking out, no snow! Yeah, we're getting closer! Really excited about having Bike Night here in Erie."
But it's not just the bikers having a great time, local businesses owners say they also enjoy seeing the downtown full of people.
"It's downtown, it's the heart of Erie. Everybody here, you ask all these business owners, who's not going to be happy after this? It's good for business," said Bertrand Artigues, owner of Bertrand's Bistro.
Bike Night is only the start of many events happening downtown this summer, including the big Perry 200 parade next week, and the block parties starting next month.
John Buchna of Erie Downtown Partnership, said these events are all about everyone coming together to enjoy downtown.
"Little things like this mean a lot, because we want people to feel welcomed and come back more frequently."
