We first reported Friday night that two separate motorcycle accidents sent three people to the hospital.
Now we've learned that one of those accidents claimed the life a woman.
Millcreek Police say the woman was critically injured when her motorcycle was rear ended by a Jeep Patriot, driven by Aleatha Wyatt of Florida Street in Erie.
The accident happened just before 9:30 Friday night on Route 8 at East Gore Road.
The victim was thrown from the motorcycle. She died at UPMC Hamot trauma center.
The woman was riding with a companion on another motorcycle.
"As they were approaching the light on East Gore one of the bikes continued through an amber light and the other one stopped for it and a vehicle struck the one motorcycle from behind," said Millcreek Police Sergeant Timothy Beveridge.
He says the station always sees an increase in motorcycle accidents this time of year. "Now there's a huge influx of bikes on the road and we need to be very aware of that."
Police have not released the victim's name. Their investigation is ongoing.
