The Erie Fire Department, Friday evening, made quick work of an apartment fire.
It happened at Friendship Apartments on East 11th Street. Crews were called out just before 7 P.M.
When they arrived, they found a kitchen fire in an apartment on the sixth floor. They were able to contain the fire to that one room, and quickly had it out.
"Fire are very dangerous in high rises, we're not to fighting them that often, they don't occur that often," said Deputy Fire Chief Jeff Carroll of the Erie Fire Department. "You have the occupying load in the building, and that's the main thing, a lot of people in the structure and you want to keep the fire contained and extinguished very quickly."
None of the residents had to be evacuated, and fortunately no one was injured.
