The murder case against Michael James is moving forward, again, after a judge denied two pre-trial motions in Erie County Court.
James faces trial in the July 13, 2012 shooting death of 25 year old Teverous Williams. The murder happened at 19th and Ash Streets in Erie. James was arrested at the Downtown Erie Hotel at 18th and Peach.
Judge Ernest Disantis denied a motion to suppress evidence from the hotel. He ruled that the motion was moot, because no evidence was recovered from room 125 of the hotel.
The judge also denied a motion to toss the case for lack of evidence. Judge DiSantis issued an order saying the preliminary hearing transcript showed sufficient evidence for charges against James to proceed to trial
The case against Michael James was dismissed previously, when a key witness failed to appear in court.
