If you're an animal lover but don't have time or room for permanent pets, adoption agencies are asking you to help in other ways.
"Because You Care", a local animal adoption network, is looking for volunteers to foster an animal, until it's adopted.
You can find more information at www.becauseyoucare.org.
You can also volunteer to drive adopted animals to their new homes, for national adoption organizations, including the "Underground Railroad Rescued Kitty Network" (URRKN) and "Kindred Hearts."
Transporters are especially needed in our area along I-90.
There are a few requirements before you can help.
"You have to have a reliable car, insured, valid drivers license and you have to fill out an application, and they check you out and approve you," said volunteer Donna Waller.
To contact the URRKN, you can call Kirby Grosso at 912-222-8314, or email URRKN@groups.facebook.com
