Perry 200 Fireworks Preparations

Posted: Updated:

Workers were busy today completing their preparations for the Perry 200 fireworks shows at 4 locations around the county.

The largest show will be over Presque Isle Bay, near Liberty Park. And today, crews from Zambelli Fireworks were busy putting it together on 2 barges along the bayfront. The 15 minute show will include about 1500 shells, some of them 6 inches in diameter.

Today, workers were doing the final wiring.

Jim Carbonelli of Zambelli Fireworks said, "Right now we're loading the show. We're wiring the shells with electronic matches. And then they will wire them to the board. So we can fire them, all electronically."

The U.S. Coast Guard will enforce a safety zone around the barges before and during tomorrow night's show.
