Car Swallowed By Sinkhole In Toledo

Posted: Updated:

Toledo, OH - Police in Toledo say a vehicle was "swallowed up" by the sinkhole Wednesday afternoon. Crews pulled a woman out of that vehicle. They say she was not hurt. It is located at the intersection of Bancroft Street and Detroit Avenue.

Toledo Fire officials say the sinkhole is 20 feet deep and 10 to 15 feet across. They say water is rushing below and they expect the sinkhole to grow.

Emergency crews are now putting barricades up in the area to keep people away as they investigate the scene.

Lilly Broadcasting station 13 ABC is covering this and provided information for this update.
