The world of sports can produce the oddest things once in a while. After all, it is the original "realty" show. For example, how can Alex Ovechkin of the Washington Caps be voted an NHL All Star twice !! He was named a first team left winger and a second team right winger. That's absurd even though he's a great player but once is enough.
Jose Bautista of the Toronto Blue Jays saw his average go up 16 points in the last five games while wearing the pants of pitcher AJ Dickey, so, he is going to keep wearing them and, I say, why not. Sometimes just the positive re enforcement mentally can make all the difference too.
Ben Roethlisberger of the Steelers was in London this week promoting the NFL game the Steelers will play during week four of the regular season. Of course, he was stationed in front of the real "Big Ben." Looks like Ben was hitting the "banquet circuit" this off season too but training camp is coming up soon. You have to wonder if Roethlisberger will start to show signs of wear and tear this upcoming season. He's been belted around pretty good in his career and has had his share of injuries. It doesn't get any easier the older you get and takes longer to recover too. So we'll see if Big Ben still has the edge when the season begins in a few months.
