The Summer Outdoor Concert Series continued Friday night at Presque Isle Downs and Casino, with two-fan favorites returning for one big show.
Fans from across the area came out to see county music star Chris Higbee, and Pittsburgh-based rock group The Clarks. This is the second of five in the series. The casino puts up a stage, right on the horse track.
Higbee said that this venue is one of his favorites to play.
"I love it up here. This is where people go to have fun. It's really cool because you got the veranda here, whatever, and the seats packed nice. It's kind of a tight area. It's going to be electrifying tonight."
And electrifying it was. But that's what fans of Higbee's music have come to expect at his shows.
"We love country music and he's awesome," said Terri Marcy of Girard. "We love the fiddle!"
"The energy, the band members are so down to earth, so personable, easy to talk to," said Michele Hedglin of Erie. "It's a great group of people!"
After Higbee was done performing, The Clarks rocked the stage. Fans who follow the Pittsburgh-based band couldn't wait to see them perform here.
"It's a good time, we follow them around," said Dwayne Pond of Saegertown. "I haven't had a chance to come up here to see a concert yet, so it was a good excuse."
The next concert in the series
will be David Cassidy on August 9th.
