Despite the upcoming job cuts at the Erie plant, GE Transportation continues to book more orders.
The company has booked an order for more than 50 locomotive kits, valued at over $108 Million dollars.
The order is from South African Trans-Net S.O.C. Limited.
According to the company, engines will be built in Grove City, and other systems will be built and assembled in Erie.
The announcement was made Tuesday, by Export-Import Bank of the United States.
