The Bowling Green State University Athletics Ticket Office has announced that season tickets are now on sale for the 2013 BGSU volleyball season. The Falcons went 22-11 a year ago and earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament by winning the Mid-American Conference Tournament. BGSU advanced to the second round with a thrilling five-set victory over Yale and returns most of the starters and letter winners from the 2012 team.
Season tickets begin at just $48 as BGSU hosts 12 regular season matches in the state-of-the art Stroh Center. All season ticket holders will have the opportunity to take part in a Chalk Talk (Volleyball 101) session, hosted by Coach Tomic, prior to all Friday home matches from 5:30-6 pm.
New this year for Falcon Club members is the opportunity to purchase Anderson Club or courtside seats. Anderson Club seats will be available for just $48 and limited courtside seats will be available for $75.
Along with playing eight conference opponents in Bowling Green, the Falcons will host Youngstown State in non-league action and will anchor the Hampton Inn Invitational, featuring Creighton, BYU and Marquette.
"The goal for our program is to get in the Top 25 and our tough preseason schedule reflects that," second-year head coach Danijela Tomic said. "The team has been working hard in preparation to accomplish that goal and win another MAC Championship. I want to invite all of our Falcon fans, especially our BGSU students, to help us create the best volleyball atmosphere in the MAC and have our team also ranked in the Top 25 in attendance. We believe our 2013 team will be a team the Falcon family will be proud to support."
In all, BGSU will play six non-conference matches against teams that ranked in the final top 25 a year ago, but the Falcons return five starters and the libero from a team that won an NCAA Tournament match for the first time in program history.
The Hampton Inn Invitational is arguably the strongest home tournament in program history with all three opponents posting an RPI in the top 40 in the country a year ago. BYU ended 2012 ranked No. 12 in RPI and Creighton was No. 24.
A year ago, BGSU had the third-best attendance in the Mid-American Conference, averaging 722 fans per contest. The Falcons went 8-1 at home, including a sweep of regular season MAC champion Ohio.
Tickets are now available by calling the BGSU Ticket Office at 877-BGSU TICKET. Fans can view the entire schedule by visiting the volleyball website at BGSUFalcons.com.
