The website CostofCollegeSports.com recently ranked the University of Toledo football program as the third-most cost efficient in the country for the 2011 season among the top 60 FBS programs.
The rankings are based on the program's operating budget vs. its final Sagarin computer ranking to come up with a dollar figure per rating point. Toledo finished with a final Sagarin rating of 75.1 with an operating budget of $6,372,181, for a cost per rating point of $84,725.18. The Rockets finished the 2011 season rated No. 40 in the country, according to Sagarin. By contrast, the No. 1 rated team that year, Alabama, had a cost per rating point of $354,410.70.
Among all teams in the Sagarin FBS ratings, the Rockets finished seventh.
