Thousands of local families in need are breathing a sigh of relief today. The state has resolved that glitch which closed 7 local WIC offices. One of the 7 offices re-opened this morning at the Booker T. Washington Center. State workers were brought in today to handle the caseload. They provide nutritional supplements for women and children. They were forced to close Monday because of a paperwork snafu, which meant employees weren't getting paid. But, the state now says the check is in the mail. The state has set up a toll free hotline for WIC clients who may have questions, 1-855-765-2887.
