It may have been filmed in four different countries, but one of the locations in "There Are No Goodbyes," should really stick out for people from Erie who have seen the movie.
The Flagship City has a new home on the big screen.
"The story is about a young man, living in his deceased parents house in Erie, Pennsylvania," said co-writer and producer, John Lyons of Lyons Den Production. "He's kind of sleep-walking through life without purpose. Then all of the sudden, these strange packages start showing up on his doorstep."
Cue actor and Erie resident Frederick Williams, who plays Fenris in the film.
"I was surprised how much Erie had to offer and I found myself evolving into that with playing the character because we filmed all around."
West 9th Street is one of the locations that "There Are No Goodbyes" was filmed at. Both Lyons and Williams said along with showcasing the city of Erie, being able to show the talent here, was one of the best parts of this experience.
"Erie has a lot. When you see it on the screen, you say 'where is that?' And that's Erie. 'Wow, I didn't know. That's Erie?' Oh yeah. That's Erie."
Even with all four seasons, the landmarks and fantastic talent, Erie was lacking one thing when this movie was filmed.
"One of the things, when we were filming this a couple of years back now, one of the things we could have used would have been a film office established in Erie."
And that's on it's way. The Greater Erie Film Office could be here as early as spring.
And with GE's recent announcement, that hundreds of jobs could be leaving Erie, Lyons said the growing film industry is something Erie could be a part of.
"We want to do more of the same work with more people and bring more people into the area. We're kind of looking for those new industries, something that can put us back on the map."
