Product Recalls

General motors will recall Chevy Cruze models from 2011 and 2012 to correct a potential braking issue.  Only Cruzes with both turbo charged gasoline engines and 6 speed automatic transmissions are affected.  GM says the power assisted brakes can experience failure, forcing drivers to put extra pressure on the brake pedal to come to a stop.  Dealers will correct the problem for free.

70,000 char-broil patio bistro grills are being recalled because of a burn hazard.  The consumer product safety commission says the electronic ignition on the grill can ignite unexpectedly.  Char-Broil has received 26 reports of the flame going out and unexpectedly re-igniting when the control knob was turned off.  The recall involves the model 240 full size grill and the model 180 table top grill.  They were sold at stores from September 2010 through June 2013.

Nearly a 100,000 dimmable light bulbs are being recalled.  A potential problem with lead wired in the "Endura" and "Ambient" LED dimmable light bulbs can electrify the entire lamp...posing a shock hazard.  The Phillips bulbs were sold nationwide and online between October 2012 and May 2013 for $15 to $30.  If you have one, stop using it and log on to www.recall.philips.com for more information.
