Missing Elderly Woman Found Safe at Fair

Posted: Updated:

A day-long search ended on a good note Wednesday night, as a 92 year old woman who was reported missing in the afternoon, is found safe.
That woman went missing during a senior citizens picnic.

It was a tense day, but a happy ending.

The search is over for 92 year old Kate Ryan, of Girard.
She had been missing since noon from Pleasant Ridge Park, off Route 20, just west of Fairview.
Ryan was with around 50 to 75 other people from the Tri-Boro Senior Citizens Group.
They were at the park pavilion having a picnic.

State police say Ryan was last seen heading to the restroom, but she never returned to her table.
There's a large wooded area behind the pavilion, with a series of trails.
There was fear that the woman could have wandered back there.

The state police helicopter was dispatched to the scene  for an overhead search, while firefighters on ATV's conducted a search on the ground.

Here's the good news, around 4:00 Wednesday afternoon Ryan was found safe, at the Crawford County Fair.
Apparently, she had gone there with a group of seniors.
