GE employees took a break from building locomotives to build up the community.
More than 100 employees signed up for "GE Works in the Community Day".
This year they spruced up the sports fields of the Boys and Girls Club of Erie.
Paint brushes and trimmers replaced their usual work tools, as they fixed up the fields, stands, restrooms, and even the kitchen.
"GE is a big corporation, but it's almost like adopted the Boys and Girls Club," said John Popoff of the Boys and Girls Club. "When they do things they do it big, it isn't like they'll send four or five volunteers, they come in an army of volunteers which we need."
The improvements will benefit hundreds of local elementary and middle school students in Erie.
