Two Shot - Police Investigate

Posted: Updated:

Erie Police are investigating a shooting incident that happened just before 11:00 PM Saturday at the corner of 25th and Ash Street. They confirm that two people were shot and taken to Saint Vincent Hospital by a private vehicle.  At least one victim was transferred to UMPC Hamot Trauma Center.  Emergency crews reported that person as a 20-year old who suffered three gunshot wounds to the chest.

Erie Police crews responded to the scene of the crime, which witnesses say happened outside of J. J.'s Pub, located at that corner.  Officers spotted blood on the sidewalk there.  A witness told police the suspect is a black male, medium height, stocky build, with "baby dreadlocks," wearing a red shirt and blue jeans.  Police put out a second description of a light-skinned black male wearing a white polo and a blue baseball cap.

Witnesses said they heard two shots.  Police did find two shell casings at the scene.

Police called a tow truck to take the private vehicle used to transport the patients into evidence in the city hall garage.
