Week One in the books for the local NFL teams and not a great start, all three lost. The Steelers had a lot of questions heading into the season after not winning a pre-season game and those questions remain as they had little offense, especially running the football, is a loss to the Titans. Look out Big Ben, without a running game and a shaky offensive line, he may be running for his life if things don't get fixed soon. The Steelers should hope to be around five hundred halfway through the season, be improved by then, and try to rip off a few wins in the second half to make the playoffs. The good thing out of Sunday, all four teams in the AFC North loss, so everyone is dead even after one game.
The old jinx remains for the Bills, they just can't beat the Patriots. With EJ Manuel throwing two touchdown passes, the Bills were in a position to beat the Patriots but Tom Brady and company found a way to get a late field goal and beat the Bills again. Brady is 22-2 against the Bills in his career. He may have to retire before Buffalo ever beats the Pats again, but some good things in game one from the Bills to look forward to.
Maybe the biggest disappointment was the Browns. They looked like they were ready to roll after the pre-season but quickly found out, things change when they start to play the games that count. Maybe Miami is better than most expect but it was not a pretty game offensively for Weeden and the Browns. Like the Steelers however, they are dead even after one game in the AFC North and can turn it around next week. That is life in the NFL.
