Dozens of local woman, gathered at the Hirt Auditorium Thursday afternoon for "Women Business Owners - A Key to Keeping Erie Great."
Janet Harris-Lange, the national president of the Women Business Owners Corporation, was in Erie to share some keys to running a successful business.
A business owner herself, Harris-Lange said women play an important role in the business world. In fact, there are over eight million women-owned businesses in the country.
"Women have conquered fields and are doing things that are so amazing, and we're really, really proud of them. And they're not afraid to venture out, not afraid to ask for help, and they're not afraid to start a new business."
Harris-Lange says the number of women business owners is growing.
