People braved some cooler temps on Friday to take their cause outside.
The community joined veterans, their families, and VA employees to walk for suicide awareness, outside the VA medical center.
They used their lunch hours to lace up their shoes for the annual suicide prevention walk, around the VA medical center campus.
The walk remembers all victims of suicide, but focuses in a special way on veterans, who are twice as likely to commit suicide as civilians.
The walk also helps raise awareness about suicide prevention programs for veterans.
