The self-admitted drug dealer whose murder trial ended in a hung jury, is once again headed to trial.
Today, the Erie County District Attorney's office announced that they will retry the case against 29-year-old Michael James.
James is accused of fatally shooting 25-year-old Teverous "Gooney" Williams near the corner of East 19th and Ash Streets back in July of last year.
During his trial, James testified that he killed Williams in self-defense, while prosecutors said he killed him in cold blood. But after the week long trial, the jury came to a deadlock and was unable to reach a verdict on the homicide charge.
The retrial is expected to take place in November.
